I was looking for a ring light that I could use for some video work but I found them to expensive. So I looked here on Thingiverse and everything I found was made using neopixels or other expensive LEDs. I designed this in Fusion360 based on cheap 5mm white LEDs (3000-3500 Kelvin) that I had available to me. I had to design the ring and the mount into separate parts due to the small print bed of my printer. Attaching the mount using super glue works fine and you can choose yourself if you want the 1/4 inch threaded hole on the front or the back. It is a good idea to use a small ball joint camera mount to be able to adjust the light and having it mounted upright. The design also includes a diffuser that I printed in transparent filament and you just push it in place. I used some electrical tape on the diffuser to create some friction so that it would not fall out.
Just solder all the LEDs in parallel and hook up a power source and voila! I am really happy with this project and I hope
