This is a custom 5x7 spring back for a Rittreck View field camera. The OEM backs are extremely rare and expensive, so I designed this one.
Designed from measurements of 5x7 film holders and a Rittreck 4x5 back mount.
Ground the focus screen by hand using 500-600 grit on 2mm thick 5x7 photo frame glass.
Only tools needed are a hex key for M4 screws and whatever you use to take supports off of the prints and clean holes.
Only hardware required:
8x M4 15mm screws
4x M4 10mm screws
4x neodymium magnets (3mm diameter, 2mm tall)
The doors/hood take quite a bit of force to push into the hinge sockets. I intentionally left them a bit rough so the hinges didn't swing too freely.
The magnets were press-fit into the top door and the frame.. Make sure they are facing the right way (so the door sticks shut) before pressing them in... I used vice-grips to push them in after reaming the holes a bit with a pair of scissors to perfectly fit the magnets.
