This thing was made with Tinkercad. Edit it online https://www.tinkercad.com/things/9Be9UPvCzFA
I used ZIRO marble for the base and some 3D RAX Purple Haze and 3D Solutech txlucent blue for the crystals. I was able to bend the base and snap in the crystal with a little persuasion. I made all the bases from the ZIRO marble, but changed up the crystals dependent on what translucent pla I had on hand at the time.
I'm using this as a riser for our 2D printer so my wife can stash a box of stationary under it. After printing out some documents I've realized that for my application I'll need to increase the x and y axes a bit as the printer can wobble pretty violently with the current crystal diameter.
These would also be neat for board games like my boys "Magic" game.
I remixed this from: Hi Res Rocks! (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1505745)
and Rocket_Pig_Games_Crystal (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1857321) I eventually used the HI Res Rocks and my own pentagonal crys
