Recently purchased a set of the new Rockler Tool Click Connect vacuum hose fittings. It comes with a piece that attaches to the vacuum hose and then various sized fittings for different tools that lock into place. This adapter can be incorporated into another existing 3D design or used to create something from the ground up.

I'm playing around with a dust chute for a router table as well as a universal dust port. Both of these will have the ability to lock on to the vacuum.
