Fully Functioning tiny roman ballista. Designed to be a large ballista for 28mm rpg gaming. Launches a spitball about 10 feet or a small wooden stick 5-6 feet. I use two 1/8th inch diameter pins to form the linkage in the main elevation joint and in forming the axle of the pawl. Easy to make these out of 1/8inch aluminum or steel shaft cut to 3/4 inch length. The hole in the ballista channel should give the pawl free action so turning the crank will actually allow the ratchet and pawl to work well. Requires 2 to 8 small rubber bands and two short lengths of string. The linch pin for releasing the missile is a small straightened paper clip.
Print 4 of the winders and 2 of the arms. If you don't want to print support for the arms, I printed each arm as 2 pieces by embedded the arms halfway into the print bed. Then glue the halves together. Might be able to upload some images to clarify the assembly soon.
