The Beholder, lying broken on the ground, has yielded a key that will allow your party through the gate, into the unknown depths below. After, what seems like hours, of walking down a slimy, musky, spiral causeway you find yourselves in a large cavern with a low hanging ceiling. You can make out the shapes of countless stalactites slowing making their way to the cavern floor. The sound of dripping water echos and you decide to search for a fresh source. Several feet into the cavern, you notice that your thief has disappeared. Everyone stops as the mage cast another orb of light. There is a shrill screech and a sudden thud as the thief crashes to the floor. Several tentacles lash at the light from a nearby stalactite, and thats when you hear your thief yell "Watch out! The're Ropers on the ceiling!
