I really liked the cable catcher design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3706, I had some difficulty finding an adhesive that would attach it sufficiently to my desk surface. I initially thought about just remixing it with a bigger base, but the other thing I noticed was that, in my case, the cable catcher was being stressed in a rotational plane as well. Even though it was a bit bulky, I decided a standard skateboard bearing would work well, as it would be a fairly accessible option for most people.
The model consists of three parts. First is the original cable catcher, which is linked in this posting. Second is the base - a standard skateboard bearing should friction fit into it snugly, and it is large enough that a good two-sided tape should be able to secure it to your surface; alternately, there are holes you can use to attach it via screws (I recommend pan-head - it's not thick enough to accommodate countersinks). Finally, the top part of the base is designed to friction fit i
