Taking heavy inspiration from the Milescraft CompactSubBase handle, and due to this product not fitting my Makita trim router (XVJ03), I've decided to build my own. (The Milescraft base assumes that at least one of the lines connecting the diagonal screws of the router base would pass through the center of the router bit, turns out that is not the case for my Makita 🤷.) It's not an exact replica, and missing the functionality of angle adjustment. But I included a few different variations - round, oval, and tilted. I printed mine out of PETG with 4 walls and 15% infill. I added fuzzy skin to the ball portion of the handle to make it easier to grip, it really helps. Two M4x8.1 inserts that are 16mm apart at the base for attaching to a router base (made my base out of acrylic). Parts needed to complete the full router base with handle. M4x8.1 inserts x 4 M4x8 countersunk screws A sheet of ¼" acrylic that would fit both the router and handles, I cut mine out of 12" x 12" square, had more than half left at the end. I also added Router Base Template files I used to print the layout template for my makita trim router. The screw patterns are super strange, the four screws connecting the base do not form any parallel lines, at least for my router.
