RUBS models

RUbble Biodiversity Samplers (RUBS) are lightweight 3D-printed models that provide a standardised unit to monitor biodiversity in coral rubble habitat. RUBS consist of four layers that can be assembled and dismantled as required. The RUBS model was developed to ensure consistency in experimental design while upholding the microhabitat complexity inherent in coral rubble. The final 4-stacked units provide ~50% interstitial space for immigration and occupancy by small coral reef fauna including crustaceans, molluscs and fishes.
