S mine

The German S mine was an antipersonnel mine that was almost fully buried in the ground, with only the prongs of the fuse sticking out of the ground. When the prongs would be touched or moved, the mine used a 4 second delay before popping 3ft out of the ground and exploding.

The S mine was used extensively on the Western front and gained a reputation of being one of the most feared weapons by the Allies. It was lethal against unarmored enemies and very successful when deployed during Germany's defense of Europe.
