I recently installed two Bigtree S42B Closed Loop Stepper motors onto my Tronxy X5S printer (X & Y axis). These stepper motors promises to eliminate layer shift as the are a closed loop motor that should guarantee accurate positioning and no skipped steps! Although I've only completed the conversion a week ago or so, so far, things are working well!
This project includes a document that shows the installation details (See PDF document) for my X5S printer running a Bigtree SKR 1.4Turbo controller board. I've included details of the MARLIN code updates needed to complete the install. While some of the details are X5S specific, I hope that others considering an S42B upgrade their printers will find these notes helpful.
