Design ConceptThe Screw Head Bumper is a custom-designed TPU cap created to protect workpieces during clamping. It fits directly onto an M6 hex screw head and prevents scratches, dents, and pressure marks that metal hardware would normally leave behind. The inner cavity features a precise 10 mm hex profile for a secure, non-rotating fit on standard M6 screw heads. The outer shape is slightly tapered to provide controlled compression under load, while the textured top surface distributes clamping pressure evenly. This results in a stable, soft-touch contact point ideal for delicate materials or surfaces that must remain unmarked.Designed in Fusion 360 and optimized specifically for flexible TPU, the bumper is durable, vibration-absorbing, and adaptable to most toggle clamps, jigs, and custom fixtures.Print SettingsMaterial: TPU (95A recommended)Layer height: 0.20 mmWalls: 3–4Top/Bottom layers: 4Infill: 20–30%Speed: 20–40 mm/s (depending on printer and TPU brand)Supports: Not requiredBrim: Recommended for better adhesion with flexible materialsNozzle temperature: As required by your TPU (typically 220–240°C)Bed temperature: 40–60°CThese settings provide a strong, flexible shell while keeping the hex geometry accurate for a tight fit.Assembly / UsePress the bumper directly onto any standard M6 hex screw head (10 mm across flats). The flexible inner hex socket grips the screw securely and prevents slipping or rotation.Use the clamp as usual—your workpiece is now protected from metal-to-surface contact. If a tighter or looser fit is preferred, scale the model by 1–2% depending on TPU hardness. The bumper installs in seconds, requires no tools, and provides a clean, soft contact point ideal for woodworking, 3D-printed jigs, metal fixtures, plastic parts, and other sensitive materials.Boost MeIf you like this, give me a boost.Boost
