screw jack is a screw in combination with a lever and it is an example of the wedge principle. The thread is an inclined plane and the circumference of the screw touches the base of the plane. The force exerted on the handle is the force acting parallel to the base. The screw jack works by raising it and lowering with a metal bar that is inserted into the jack.
