I was having trouble finding an SD card holder that had some kind of lid, so I came up with this design on Shapr3D on an iPad. I made the individual slots at slightly higher intervals and a little bigger than a standard SD card, so they do not fit snug, but with the lids closed, it didn’t matter. I wanted something where if I bumped it, the cards wouldn’t go flying across the room.
The hinge uses a 31mm length of 1.75 filament to act as a pin. I deliberately made the holes a hair small with the intent of drilling it out with a 3/32. The front has a small clasp and holds the lid down well. It took under just under 4 hours on an Ender 3 at .2mm layer height, 15% infill and 60mm/s
I’m in the process of designing inserts that could hold micro SD cards in case the standard SD card slots are too big.
Feel free to comment any suggestions to improve this design
