For those who have been using OctoPi or connecting to your printer's serial, it can be very easy for the connection to timeout due to a bad fit between the board and the connector. By using this secure cable guide, there is almost no movement due to an interference fit between the cable and the 3D printed part. This means no more lost connections due to a loose cable!

Here is the cable I used for connecting the printer's board to the Pi, it is recommended to get a shielded one with a ferrite core:
