All models are created with a purpose, and the purpose behind this id-card holder is to stop my friend and classmate who tends to "steal" my school-id. He of course always gives it back eventually, but now it should be impossible to steal. The whole band has to be threaded out to release the card. You can't hook it loose with the clip, because the clip is not used, and it's made to be rugged and unnecessarily durable.
