Edit 1 September 2023: First trial print shows two major issues. First is that while the inner pot was designed to be 0.03" smaller than the outer tank, PLA shrinkage ate all of that up, and the two are now a permanent press fit. The second is that the lip of the watering tube is too flimsy. Will post a revised design soon. Changed the STL files to work with these issues.
Wanted to create a self-watering planter similar to the original one from Parallel Goods ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:903411 ), but with a simpler layout and easier to print. Fill the bottom of the tank portion with perlite or hydroponic clay beads or even small rocks. Fill the pot portion with soiless media or potting soil, add seeds, and enjoy watching a plant grow.
