This game was developed for the treatment of children based on Winnie Dunn’s theory of sensory processing. For a patient with a strong interest in cars, a play street was designed. At each step in a story, the child can place one or more colored toy cars to indicate their level of sensory arousal:
• blue for under-stimulation
• green for a neutral state
• orange for excitement
• red for over-stimulation
In addition, the child can use tokens to indicate which senses were mainly involved in that situation, namely: visual, olfactory, interoceptive, vestibular, proprioceptive, auditory, tactile, and oral.
This approach has already been tested in practice.
