The obvious issues here have nothing to do with the original design. It appears quite good. I was testing with my first spool of PETG and the printed artifacts and the adhesion problems are mine to solve in the printer settings for this material. Advise you use a good big thick raft at least when printing this in PETG.
I really liked this thing and had in mind that it would be part of a vertical kinetic sculpture. Also, I had a spool of translucent PETG and I wanted to test a larger print with it. At 9.5 hours, it seemed right. Well, they say PETG can have adhesion issues. I agree.
After cutting down a mop of chaotic strings and trimming the inevitable PETG strings, I had this. Serendipity seems like the only proper title. It reminds me of early 19th C Russian Modernist sculptures, like Arp. It now hangs as part of an assembly that drives a wind chime. Still a very nice thing to begin with and here something that I bet can't be duplicated.
