Please see my Mark V upgrade at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2820772 which is much more rugged.
Mark III upgrade 1/26/18.
This upgrade takes out weak point in drive shaft to crank connection; adds a second crank to oscillate a parallelogram arm on the opposite side directly rather that through the table; and adds rotating lock pins to hold the platen in place without the need for binder clips. Consequently as the assembly of the drive shaft has got a bit more complex, I have added an exploded diagram to explain the layout.
The application: Students build towers from spaghetti and marshmallows then see if they can take the seismic forces from this little table. Upper table oscillates on 4 parallelogram arms, two of which are driven by a cranks. Cranks in turn are attached to a drive shaft with a 1/4" hexagon allowing it to be rotated by an electric screwdriver or cordless drill.
You will probably have to run a 1/4" drill through most of the holes to open them up for
