I needed a tool to scribe sheet metal. I used a steel one that was similar but it was marked with imperial measurements. I wanted something similar to it but with some improvements like metric and a longer section for the sheet to glide on so it would protect my finger as it slides off the end of the sheet. It uses one 5mm bolt, two 5mm nuts a 3mm machine screw with nut for the marker - this needs to be ground to a sharp point. The knob i used for the bolt was found on this site but I can't recall where exactly I downloaded it.
It will mark a straight edge along a sheet of metal from .5 cm up to 27 cm - you just move the tightening knob to the second hole and turn the inner 180 degrees for any marks over 14 cm.
