Shelf pipe clamp

My wife pointed out the shelf was a floating shelf and wanted me to design something that would hold it in place. I added the rubber as an experiment as to the fastening strength. When I screwed them in place, I could see the rubber compressing a little providing resistance. I see if the screws loosen in time.
