-- A lighter derivative of MakeAlot's derivative, with side wall modified, tongue joints height lessened to fit easier, and hook at back removed.
Testing of lightness/ strengths of Louvre Boxes to make them lighter and thus cheaper, without compromising strength.
Front: Original Louvre design - 31 grams - $1.32
Middle: Hexagonal Wall design - 25 grams - $1.07
Back: Single Wall design - 20 grams - $0.853
This derivative brings the weight down (machine dependent) from 31 grams to 20 grams, shaving off $0.42 for me per box.
This is based on Vik's 3mm PLA at $32/ 750 grams.
Pic from L - R, Original, Hex test, Single Wall.
PS. The original side walls were left intact, as they were only 2 walls thick with a space in between. Also as the side layer is the first layer on the print bed, it coalesces to form a nice solid one piece wall. (Assuming your nozzle sits less then your filament height above your bed.)
