Simple Infinity Band Ring

A model, created "Just For Fun" and to learn about reducing file sizes of native CAD files, without using a (.7z) or (.zip) Folder. Here is the little trick for (.prt) files, in my case (PTC Creo Parametric): All construction elements (have a look at the screen shot of my model tree) are suppressed before saving the CAD file. If you open this file later you will see nothing, before you retrieve all suppressed construction elements in the model tree. A comparision for this concrete example: Original file size: 186.965 kB File size with all suppressed construction elements: 677 kB File size of a (.7z) folder: 39.153 kB This option to reduce large file sizes I often have been used for sending native CAD files to my colleagues via eMail. The model is available in following data formats: STEP file (.stp) of the part. STL file (.stl) of the part. Native file (.prt.1) with all suppressed constuction elements. Try it out in your own CAD application! I think it's a fine solution to reduce large file sizes of parts/ components.
