Quite frankly, coat hooks are a scam. In the US, they’re about eight dollars for two. Which sounds fine- until you have a house that needs more than twenty of them.
Most 3D printed designs are – not very practical.
So, I created a solution.
This small hook is sized to just barely fit around a 2.5 inch drywall screw, providing a low-cost, efficient coat hook, with a big enough nub on the end that a hangar or casually-hung coat won’t just slip off, nor will the sharp end of the screw cut up the fabric from repeated use (as happened with my workshop coat).
With the screw adding support, this hook can support 50+ pounds of coats.
I printed it from black PLA, 0.2mm layer height, at 40% infill, with three walls, and just a skirt for adhesion. The supports were at 45 degrees.
Probably the only problem with this design is removing the center supports- I typically use a punch (or a nail) and a hammer.
I’d suggest using a black anodized screw and black PLA, since it makes the screw less visi
