When I switched to right angle 9x50 finder scope, I found that it was more difficult to make coarse star finding. So I thought it would be useful to have a starpointer next to my finder scope, but I don't want to drill holes for a second finderscope shoe. I found a 1 to 3 shoe adapter, but it's unnecessarily heavy for a starpointer, so I came up with this design.
Design update:
Changed one chamfered edge to fillet, now it's easier to align the top and bottom half.
You may need a few additional pieces:
-2 pcs M3x14 screw
-4 pcs M3 washer
-2 pcs M3 nut (self-locking recommended)
-2 pcs velvet adhesive tape (9x50 ring requires ~15x60 mm. The 6x30 ring requires ~12x40 mm)
Apply the tape to the inside of the rings so it cannot slip on the finder scope mounting.
Please check the lower part before mounting, because the inner surface is a half cone, not a cylinder.
If you print the files without re-orienting them, their side facing the build plate needs to be faced forward on the finder sc
