Just a simply horizontal spool holder. I needed slim and easy to print spool holder for my filament box [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2932294].
Instruction:
1. Print top and bottom part of slim or fat spool holder
2. Get some 6 mm airsoft pellets (amunition for ASG). Don't buy the cheap one. You need the balls to be smothe to get them roll.
3. Place the balls in the bottom part. You will have to push them down to the channel. The balls should move freely in the channel and shouldn't fall off if you flip the bottom part.
4. Get some rubber buttons. I used rubber feet used to protect furniture and walls from hitting them with doors. Any rubber feet/buttons will do as long as the spool will get extra friction. Put the rubber feet both on top and bottom part. To get the right placement check at which points spool touches the top part.
5. Place the top part on the bottom one. Place spool on it.
Extra informations:
- The channel is designed to have diameter 6.3 mm (as the A
