David Moews has created a printable version of a multiplication machine and placed it in the public domain. The machine is based on a set of rods, one rod for each decimal digit. It uses a theorem of Hayyim Selig Slonimsky, (ca 1840) - see the subsection "slonimsky-rods" at http://djm.cc/dmoews.html .
I have downloaded the rods, a cradle, and a lid, from David's web site. These files can be used to create a working version of a multiplication machine. A README describing the machine and its principle of operation was also downloaded.
The stl files come from http://djm.cc/slonimsky-rods-0.02-stl.tgz and the README file from http://djm.cc/slonimsky-rods-0.02.tgz and are included here.
