Small Lightweight Ornament

A small, 50 mm diameter, lightweight, 12 grams, ornament that prints without support. A string with a bead or knot at the end can be inserted through a hole at the top for hanging.

It is based on a polyhedron from the visual polyhedra web site - http://dmccooey.com/polyhedra/ - A Rectified truncated icosidodecahedron - http://dmccooey.com/polyhedra/RectifiedTruncatedIcosidodecahedron.html

The rectified truncated icosidodecahedron has, as faces, 12 regular decagons, 20 regular hexagons, 30 squares and 120 acute triangles. In this ornament the hexagonal faces were left blank, the square and decagonal faces were outlined, and the 12 decagonal faces individually decorated.

OpenSCAD code is included. It includes a brief explanation of the method used to construct ornaments from the polyhedra at the visual polyhedra web site. It is meant to be helpful for those starting to use openSCAD.
