Seems like all pet feeders are for some sort of dry food but what if your pet needs something softer like our sheltie does? And in the middle of the night when you'd rather be sleeping? This lead me to design a pet feeder of my own. It might not be the prettiest one out there but it gets the job done. I have been running one for well over a year now with very limited amount of issues. I originally designed this model to hold two cups of food but this current model is for one (let me know in the comments if you need a dual cup version). This pet feeder connects to ESPHome/Home Assistant for smart automations. Someone with adequate skills in coding (or AI prompting) can program the ESP for standalone operation, feel free to tinker. Some hardware is required to make this work but they should be very generic and easy to source. - 6 pcs M3 heat insert 3-4mm length, OD 4.5mm or 5mm (M3x3x4.5) - 6 pcs M3 socket head cap screw, 5mm length. Only length limiting hole is the one near ESP holder, if you have longer screws that don't fit there, you can skip that and connect the bottom piece with only 3 screws - ESP32 board - 1 pcs SG90 9G servo, 180 degrees - 1 pcs button (optional) - 1 cup/ramekin, max 10 cm diameter (the main cup hole size), 6 cm height (I found some from Lidl which are few mm smaller in both diameter and height and they are perfect). I suggest buying this instead of printing. Let me know if your cup is too high and need spacers, I have already have an idea how that could work… When printing, please select appropriate plate based on heat insert outer diameter for main body and print only the matching ESP holder.
