Smart-Pond PVC Adapters

I wanted to connect my Model #52265 Smart-Pond pump to 1in pvc, but the only fittings provided by the manufacturer were Tubing Barb fittings. These adapters should work on both the 52265 / 52530 since they use 1/2 threads.

The slip side is .015in larger than the Nominal Standard for Schedule 40 PVC this allows the pipe to slip in easier. When I attached mine to the PVC I wrapped it in a generous amount of PTFE Tape and drilled it out and fixed them together with a #8 Screw.

NOTE: The threads on these fittings are not as rounded on the edges as the ones provided by the manufacturer you will need to use some form of PTFE Tape Thread Sealant. Pipe Dope may also work but I am not going to try it and the tape will not need time to set up.
