The spool holder provided with the SmartAlu is quite simple.
I thought it could be nice to design something a bit less rudimentary and more elegant, using a bearing to make sure the spool can rotate without resistance. So, here it is… :)
Keep the original M3 bolt, you'll use it to install the lower support part. You'll also need a 608ZZ bearing, to insert it in the upper part cavity, and then on the lower part axis.
It's made for regular spools with a 60mm hole. With this rotative support, the spool will rotate freely and effortlessly. :)
Update (2017 may 28th) : modified the top part, so that if the beginning of the filament sticks out the inside of the spool it won't prevent installing the spool on the support.
