Smeg Espresso Platform

This 3D-printed model is a practical platform designed for espresso cups to be used with a fully automatic coffee machine from SMEG. The initial problem was that small cups – especially espresso cups – were positioned too low beneath the spout. This often caused splashing during brewing and created an unnecessarily long distance for the coffee to travel.The solution is a precisely fitted platform that raises smaller cups closer to the spout. Its height is carefully designed so that the coffee flows directly into the cup without splashing. At the same time, the full functionality of the coffee machine remains intact: the drip tray can still be used without restriction, since the model is shaped to fit perfectly and can be removed with ease.The result is a sleek, functional accessory that enhances the daily espresso experience while keeping the coffee machine’s usability completely intact.
