So I found a Youtube video that tells you how to reduce the noise from the snapmaker 2.0 power supply fan. Basically, the hack is to just to unplug the noisy 40mm fan at the back.
The only issue is that cooling for the power supply is reduced. I've been running my Snapmaker like this for a year or so, and the PSU does get warm during long runs. Recently, I opened the front of the PSU up to have a look at what can be done to improve airflow. It turns out that the sexy glow at the front of the PSU is from a string of LEDs shining onto a translucent plate that pretty much covers the entire front of the PSU.
I figured that I could probably improve cooling by creating a new light plate that has holes in it. While I was at it, I put a stylised snapmaker label on it as well. I also removed the 40mm fan entirely to help with airflow. The results are good. The PSU runs at least 10 degrees cooler with the new plate in the front.
You can print this in any colour you like, but you will
