Fed up with coffee tables and spillage ! This is NOT a new idea, but this is my own design that allows me to safely put my coffee or drinking glass on the sofa next to me, without spillages occuring when I sit back hard or move about on the sofa. It works for me ! I added two standard remote control holders (for complete lazyness), and a small Vitamin pill holder.
