Soil Compactor - for Seedlings

OVERVIEW:These moulds are used to compact soil into cylinders. These are the ideal medium for seedlings to develop, as they encourage vigorous root growth by air pruning. FILES AND PRINTING:There are 3 sizes:smallmediumbigYou should use organic ("tree") support structures on the overhanging portions of the “bottom” parts. HOW THIS SYSTEM WORKS:Preparing soil and compacting: Soil: Use soil without large rocks, sticks, leaves, etc. Soil mix from the hardware store usually works well. Adding some coco peat or vermiculite/perlite is good for aeration and moisture regulation.Compacting: Get your soil really wet and mix it around some. Attach the “bottom” part to the “housing” and rotate to engage the bayonet closure. Insert soil mixture into the housing and use a finger to press it down quite firmly. Remove excess soil from the top of the housing. Push the “tamper” into the “housing”. Water should come out of the bottom and sides. Lean into it (literally: use your body weight)Invert
