I am mounting 3 solar panels on my garden office, and as I can only fit 4, want them to operate at peak efficiency. To do so requires keeping them perpendicular to the sun.
For these I have devised a system to control 3 linear actuators controlled by 6 relays to be able to independently angle each panel. Originally, I was going to use 2 linear actuators to move all 3 panels at once, but had trouble getting actuators with position feedback at a decent price.
Each panel has a small MPU6050 gyro connected to an D1 Mini (Esp8266) which in turn is powered via the rj45 jacks in the box.
The ESP 32 and ESP8266's are all running esphome linked in with Homeassistant
