This is a quick and dirty design I did for my SolarEdge inverter (SE11400H-US). Although it's mounted in my garage, I'm in Arizona so it definitely gets hot - my first one died after a bit under a year, and measuring the heatsink on the back it can easily get over 140f - so I decided to put some 120mm ducted fans on the top (to pull the air through the heatsink), as well as have them temperature controlled (the device in the picture is a PID-based PWM fan controller).
In my application, I set the target temp to 95f, and on most days it's able to achieve this, and when the ambient temperature rises too high I still generally stay under 105f, so a win in my book. ;)
It's designed to be printed upright without supports, and everything turns out ok except the part where you screw in the fans, but it's not terrible just a bit ugly (but thankfully not visible). Because my I3 mk3 doesn't have a large enough volume, I printed 3 of these and hot-glued them together, and put some foam i
