Soviet Rocket Lamp LED Base

I bought one of these Soviet era rocket lamps on EBay however I was not impressed with the dim light and wanted something a bit brighter so it could be a nice display piece in a lit room. This uses a commonly available 1W 20mm star LED (warm white recommended) and a constant current driver board (LD06AJSA), and I cut the end off of a USB cable to power everything. I have the board adjusted so that the LED current is about 20mA which I like and at that drive current nothing inside gets over 35C even in a warm room.

Hopefully this helps somebody else modernize their lamp!

The mounting holes for the LED are quite small, just drill them to match the screws you would like to use. I used 6mm long M3 screws in mine.
