This project, SpaceChess, was submitted by Joshua Osko (circuit board design and game logic) and Matt Barr (CAD design and fab. of chess board and pieces), to the 2016 ISS Design Challenge. SpaceChess is a spin on the game of Chess where the officiating is built-in via an LED arbiter and game pieces are threaded into place, making it easy to make a move and pass the game board to your opponent. All pieces were designed to be printed by astronauts onboard the ISS using the newly created 0g printer created by Made in Space, Inc.

The circuit board design is in progress, but the printed parts can still be assembled into a working chess board!
