This is a speaker stand designed to elevate a regular sized floor speaker off the ground to improve the sound quality.
It's fairly simple, the speaker is placed on top of the stand, no fasteners, etc. There's a honeycomb structure inside which is exposed at the top - if you wish to add extra noise dampening, you may fill this honeycomb cavity with dry sand, hot glue a lid on top to keep the sand in and place the bottom of the stand on a neoprene pad. I didn't do any of that and it still provided a remarkable improvement in sound quality, especially for low-end tones.
NOTE: It is quite stable on its own, but a kid or large dog would be capable of knocking your speaker off this stand if you aren't careful.
