These are tie-plates intended for use on Speed-Mo Model Railroad Modules, though they could feasibly be used for butt-jointed rails on any sectional or modular model railroad (in HO Scale).
These are intended for use with Micro Engineering Code 83 track. The ties and spacings are based on the Micro Engineering ties and the shoes for the rails are friction-fit for the Code 83 rails.
To use:
* Use 6 brass #2 screws per track, long enough to reach your subroadbed. I chose 1/2in long.
* If you need 2in separation you can use the entire unit together, if you need a different separation or single track, you may separate the pair.
* Paint/weather/otherwise prepare the tie plates for installation.
* Secure the tie plates to the subroadbed.
* Trim back enough ties from your track so that the rails will reach the end of the tie plates.
* Insert the rails into the printed shoes - this can be tight, some judicious force may be necessary.
* Solder the rails to the brass screws to secure them.
