A few Spherical Ice...cubes? im working on. The ice cube is 2" or 25.4mm in diameter.
The first attempt (easy thread) was too loose to hold the water in so I modified some dimensions. I haven't tested it yet.
I also made one with a 2.5" thread one. The threaded one printed out well. There was some stringing on the filet that could be fixed with supports but the part itself was water tight and made a nice spherical ice cube. The only issue was there was no lead on the thread so the male didn't drop down nicely into the female but it fit well anyway. That was modified in the chamfered file. I think the next verison will include a pusher bolt in the center of the bottom piece as the ice sticks a little bit but im going to try some sanding and see if that fixes it.
The threaded versions should print faster than the easy thread as there is less material.
I don't know the safety of 3d printed materials and ice cubes so use at your own risk. I made them and im not worrie
