Yes, the world is burned out on Spinners, they had their day - and it's gone. That said, full disclosure here: This spinner concept is my daughters idea (age 13 at the time) - I just polished the mechanics and fit.
What's unique about it:
*It has three unique components, you need all three to make one spinner. The two halves are mirror opposites.
*The addictive SNAP of the magnets as the two halves click together
*The mini spinner embedded inside can be a standalone finger spinner
*The cool pushbutton action when you press on the bearing if the spinner is laying flat. (Useless feature, but fun to press the button)
This is a fun 3D printing project because its something functional, tradeable, highly interchangeable, and fits into a pocket or backpack.
Printing in PLA:
*No supports
*20-30% infill for upper and lower halves
*40-50% infill for mini spinner inside (the rolling bearing presses into it, it needs to be a bit stronger)
*0.15mm layer height on everything
