Otherwise, the variants are as follows:
Spitfire F Mk IX: Standard Production version until 1943, equipped for medium-altitude combat with 2x 20mm cannon and 4x 7.7mm machine guns.
Spitfire LF Mk IX: Standard production variant from 1943, equipped for low-altitude combat (clipped wings coming soon) with 2x 20mm cannon and 2x 12.7mm machine guns.
Spitfire Tr Mk IX: Two-seat trainer equipped with 4x 7.7mm machine guns for basic combat training, many converted from Spitfire F/LF Mk IX examples.
