Spool Holder

Here is a spool holder for 1kg or 1lb filament spools. I have designed one side so it can attach to a Printrbot Simple, but you can always mirror the outside stand and anchor to a table or wall. Spool shaft is inserted in a slot that is at 45 degrees, so horizontal or vertical mounting is possible. Mounting holes are located in the base for anchoring to a solid surface.

I have included a few different holders that should match the standard spools on the market. If you have a size that is not included just let me know and I can configure something for you.

Use a short piece of 5/16 or 8mm threaded rod. Spools unwind very easy, almost too easy from time to time. You may have to pre-load the bearings by tightening the nuts on the shaft to give some drag to the roll so it does not unwind itself.
