Spoon Turning Jigs

These are parts to assist in turning a wooden spoon on a lathe. The safety shield fastens between two parallel mounted boards and provides a safe hole through which two spoons can be hollowed. The live center attachment fits on a standard (One-way) live center to support a hollowed spoon blank to complete a spoon.

The ball sander uses a 3/8 inch bolt to connect the parts. The template is used to size sticky back velcro to fit over the ball sander. I use a washer and nut to help lock everything together along with a little CA or epoxy glue. Sometimes the threads are a little tight. If so, use a 3/8 inch tap to clean out the threads.
