A multi piece spring loaded Ash Tray/ Pot.
It prints in 4 pieces with no supports needed.
The lid should be printed top facing down. (printers may have a slight issue with the overhangs, hence why mine printed slightly poorly but, its an ashtray so its never going to look good).
To assemble, I made a homemade spring out of light gauge steel wire (Be creative, maybe use wire from a school notebook?) The central shaft is 1/2'' in diameter so there should be some commercial springs that fit.
I over extended the spring to give it some pre-load pressure then placed it onto the rod followed with the cap which I filled with hot glue. I then clamped it for all of 2-3 mins to make sure the hot glue had fully set.
I printed mine with PLA. Hot ashes may melt into the spring loaded plate but I'm assuming gluing a piece of aluminum foil over top of the plate may help prevent that a bit.
Dimensions:
Container- 3 1/4'' Tall
Overall height with rod- 5 1/2'' Tall
Diameter of contai
