What's the difference between $20 and $1000? A $3 spring and about 50c worth of plastic - if you live under the US medical system at least.
I've designed a spring-loaded injector. You can load the syringe in, cock it, then twist to release causing the syringe to automatically prick you. Then all you have to do is manually push the plunger.
The assembly consists of 3 components:
* Spring Compressor
* Syringe Spacer
* Spring [McMaster-Carr 9434K97]
My design is specifically for 100ml (10 units of 10ml) syringes typically used for insulin, with a ø7mm x 80mm barrel for subcutaneous use only [NOT FOR INTRAVENOUS USE!]. I have provided STLs and STEP files - feel free to modify the STEP files for your syringe size. If you ask me politely, I may be willing to modify this design for your syringe size too.
Many people have to take injections: insulin, hormone replacement, GLP1s, birth control etc. The name brand prescriptions with the nice spring-loaded cartridges often
