Spring seat for the "finished" end of a generic 19mm OD, 3.2mm wire diameter, 7mm pitch spring, to see if it will work in a 1996 Rockshox Judy fork.

The coils on the ends of the generic spring are squished together but not ground flat like on the aftermarket medium Kronos spring, which has a 21mm OD and 3.37mm wire diameter.

I hit the generic spring with some white primer without bothering to prep it for paint, beyond wiping it with alcohol. Most current cheaper forks with one long coil spring in one leg have shrink tube around the middle, maybe so it won't scrape when the middle buckles under compression.
